Why not just use paint for the Two-Tone Paint Scheme?

There are several advantages to utilizing Cosmetic Paint Protection Film for your two-tone conversion. The first is maintenance. Extreme gloss piano black paint is difficult to maintain, and it loses its pristine appearance quite easily if not carefully maintained and cared for. Cosmetic Paint Protection Film is “Self Healing” and thereby looks pristine for many years without the need for special care to avoid typical wash scratching that is common to dark paint colors. Also our Cosmetic Paint Protection Films are guaranteed to last for Ten Years and look amazing!

Second is removability. If for some reason you decide you would like to return your F-Series back to its original paint scheme, removal of the Cosmetic Paint Protection Film Wrap is quite easily accomplished if performed in the first several years. The original paint underneath will have been protected by the 8 mil thick film and will likely be in the same condition that it was prior to the two-tone wrap! There is also a concern about paint overspray. No matter how well a vehicle is masked, paint overspray seems to always find its way onto other parts of the vehicle. Not an issue with Film installations.

Then there is cost, availability and turnaround time. We contacted multiple paint shops for estimates on our two tone scheme in paint. Pricing averages were higher than the cost for our wrap, with one estimate as high as $ 6,000. One shop told us they wouldn’t be able to work on an aluminum body truck, and most corporate owned shops only do collision repair, not custom paint. Turnaround time for paint is around two weeks.
